ABOUT PTA...

 

The PTA's mission is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.  Please consider joining the Daffron PTA to be a voice for every child at Daffron Elementary! Becoming a PTA member can help ensure the success of your child with your involvement in the educational experience at Daffron.  Our PTA members include parents, grandparents, students, teachers and community members.

 

DID YOU KNOW…

  • PTA funds provide the following:
    • Field trips during the year including Perot Museum, Dallas Aquarium, Dallas Zoo and Dallas Arboretum
    • Agendas for every student
    • Teacher "grant list" items for their classroom including alternative seating, educational games and activities
    • Extra P.E. equipment and books for the library
    • 3 classroom parties per grade during the year
    • Student programs and assemblies
    • Teacher appreciation
  • PTA schedules parent education courses throughout the year
  • PTA organizes and schedules after-school programs (ie drama, art, chess, and S.T.E.M.-based classes)  

 

STAYING CONNECTED...

 

On the  Daffron PTA website, the following can be completed:

 

  • JOIN THE PTA: Please follow the instructions on the website, under BACK-TO-SCHOOL REGISTRATION, or click on the “My Account” menu to register and join.
  • VOLUNTEER APPLICATION: This is a link to fill out a volunteer application/background check through PISD. An application must be completed every year, and is the only way that you are able to participate in helping at school events with your child.
  • eNEWS: Subscribing to Daffron eNews will help keep you aware of all the events and school happenings.
  • PTA NEWS: Registering will ensure that you receive PTA reminders and news each week, so that you have access to all events.

 

WAYS TO HELP SUPPORT THE PTA:

  • Volunteer to help at school or help from home.
  • Save Box Tops downloading the Box Tops app.
  • Drop off gently used clothes, shoes and household items in the clothes bin which is located at the back of Daffron (NEW LOCATION:  in parking spot behind trash receptacle.)  
  • Register to support Daffron PTA when shopping at the following: AmazonSmile, Kroger, and Tom Thumb.
  • Join us monthly for Spirit Night – a local restaurant is selected each month during school. Have a great meal with other Daffron families while also supporting the Daffron PTA.  Flyers are sent out each of those months in the Thursday folders.  The location will also be posted on this website.
